Redmi announces entry into audio segment in India, is Redmi AirDots S coming?

Redmi is getting in the audio space. Even as the nationwide lockout continues to deal with the coronovirus epidemic, Xiaomi is moving forward with its launch plans. The latest announcement comes from the company's value-driven Redmi brand, and indicates that the company will enter the audio segment in India in the coming weeks. Upcoming launch points are starting soon for a wireless product - most likely true wireless earphones - with the indication that it is the real wireless earphones from Redmi Airdots that were recently launched in China.

The announcement came via a tweet from the official handle of Redmi India, stating that Redmi is entering the audio space in India. A short video suggests that it is a music-centric product, and further text in the tweet points to it being a wireless product. All this indicates that the company can launch either true wireless earphones or a wireless speaker in India under the Redmi brand, which will go with the company's focus and money offering.

We are confident that the company will launch true wireless earphones in India, possibly as the Redmi AirDots S. was launched in China only last month, Xiaomi may be ready to launch earphones in India as well. The product is very competitively priced at CNY 100 (around Rs 1,100) and can fetch a similar price in an affordable wireless wireless space in India. The earphones weigh just 4.1g, and the earphones promise a battery life of four hours per hour.

Another possibility is the launch of a wireless speaker under the Redmi brand. This is possible, given that Xiaomi has recently launched Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 for Rs. 4499. On the other hand, Xiaomi may recommend different products and brands to use different products and brands in different price brackets to more effectively market share in affordable true wireless space. Either way, we'll find out soon.
